• The second edition of

    On danse chez vous will

take place on Saturday at 10 a.m. on the Instagram account @ emkadanceproject, and between 8:10 p.m. and 9:10 p.m. on Culturebox.

  • The artists will follow one another every hour to perform choreographies, from various places such as the Paris Opera or the Marseille Mucem, but also to give short dance lessons to the general public.

  • This “solidarity dance marathon”, created by choreographer Mehdi Kerkouche, also aims to collect donations intended for the Fondation de France for students in difficulty.

Step into the dance, see how they dance, says, roughly, the famous nursery rhyme.

In any case, this is how we can summarize the concept of

On danse chez vous

, the second edition of which is being organized this Saturday, mainly online via the Instagram account @emkadanceproject and on the Culturebox channel.

This one-day “solidarity dance marathon” was launched by choreographer and dancer Mehdi Kerkouche during the first confinement last year.

“The artists were locked in their homes.

The goal was to shed light on them while mobilizing for a good cause, he explains.

There were performances, dance lessons, talks [interviews] and our goal was to raise funds for the Fondation des Hospitals de France.

We raised 15,000 euros.

"

An event "for everyone"

This year, the online prize pool is intended for the Fondation de France in order to help students.

Mehdi Kerkouche, "very sensitive" to the crisis they are going through, specifies that the donations will be used "for basic needs, technological and psychological support".

This second edition will invest throughout this Saturday various cultural venues such as the Opéra Garnier and the UGC Normandie in Paris, the Royal Opera of the Palace of Versailles, the Mucem in Marseille… “Concretely, every hour of the day will be cut in half.

The first half hour will be devoted to a dance class and the second to a performance or interviews.

Classes are given by recognized dancers and choreographers.

The idea is to approach all genres to learn concepts ", details Mehdi Kerkouche insisting on the fact that the event" is not intended for an ultra-professional audience [and that] on the contrary, everyone is welcome ”to follow it online.

Classical dance, Lindy hop and waacking

Kick-off will be at 10 a.m. from Disneyland Paris.

"A principal dancer and a dancer from the Paris Opera ballet will give a classical dance class to the tunes of great Disney films," specifies the creator of the project.

Then, we will walk to the Institut du monde arabe with a contemporary dance class, then to a dance studio with a cabaret dancer, then to La Planque for electro dance.

We will then have dancehall, hip-hop, tap dancing, Lindy hop with dancers,

Dance with the stars

, waacking at the Louis-Vuitton Foundation… ”

And from 8 p.m. to 9:10 p.m., On danse chez vous will be on the Culturebox channel for a special program presented by Daphné Bürki and Raphaël Yem.

The program, recorded on Wednesday, will be the only event not to take place live.

“Last year, there was such an impetus after the first action, that this year, all the artists spontaneously said yes and the cultural places accepted without thinking to open their doors, confides Mehdi Kerkouche.

It is the power of dance, people know that it will be something caring, positive, filled with energy… ”So, dance now!
