You file a false robbery report to get friends
A 94-year-old retired Italian reported that she had been subjected to a robbery to get the police to come to her and "stay with her" because of her feeling of loneliness, police announced yesterday evening.
The police said that they had not brought charges against the woman and considered that the false report regarding the crime was just an "innocent lie."
The accident happened on April 8 in Lecco County (north), according to posts on Instagram and the Lecco police website.
The policemen who responded to the woman’s call returned and visited her at home the next day to check on her and presented her with cake.
The officers said that after chatting with her, they realized that "she wants a little company ... and to share all her sadness and loneliness with them."
It was reported that the woman had no relatives, and it was noted that she seemed "very upset" at the possibility of her moving to a nursing home the following week.
