The chairman of the jury of the Moscow International Film Festival became ill with coronavirus

“Briyante Mendoza fell ill with the coronavirus, and, unfortunately, he will not be able to come as the chairman of the jury,” said the director.

Mikhalkov added that Mendoza sent a video message and will continue to perform his duties remotely.

Also, the panel of judges this year includes Russian director and screenwriter Nigina Sayfullaeva, Serbian actor Milos Bikovich ("Kholop", "Magomayev"), Brazilian director Karim Ainuz and Russian composer Yuri Poteenko.

Earlier it became known that the film of Timur Bekmambetov "Devyatayev" was chosen as the opening film of the Moscow International Film Festival.
