As part of the investigation into the kidnapping of little Mia, France launched an international arrest warrant this week against Rémy Daillet.

This figure of the conspiracy movement is suspected of having helped organize the kidnapping of the girl on April 13 in eastern France.

Malaysian police "can confirm that Frenchman Rémy Daillet is in Malaysia," said the country's police official close to the investigation on condition of anonymity.

Malaysia has not concluded an extradition agreement with France but "we are ready to cooperate with the French police", he continued.

However, the French national has not been arrested or questioned at this stage.

"If the French authorities can provide all the necessary documents and evidence, the Malaysian police will take the necessary measures", while "acting with caution and complying strictly with the law", continued this source.

A figure of the conspiracy movement

According to Nancy's prosecutor François Pérain, the man would have played an important role in the organization of the kidnapping of the child and its accommodation in Switzerland.

Rémy Daillet lives in Langkawi, an archipelago in northern Malaysia popular with tourists, according to a source close to the survey.

The former executive who was excluded from the centrist Modem party has become a figure of the conspiracy movement in France.

A sixth man still wanted

Little Mia, 8, was kidnapped last week at her mother's request by several men while she was staying with her maternal grandmother in a village in the Vosges.

She was found Sunday with her mother in Switzerland, in a squat in the commune of Sainte-Croix, in the canton of Vaud, while her mother was no longer allowed to see her alone or to speak to her on the phone.

Four kidnappers were taken into custody in France.

A sixth man is still wanted.
