Today (22nd) is'Earth Day' established to protect the global environment. Recently, the environmental movement, centered on social media, has become a trend. We have joined the clean hikers Kang-eun Kim and Yeon-sil Kim, young people who are working hard to make beautiful mountains more beautiful.

Q. Who does'clean hiker' refer to?

[Kim Kang-eun/Clean Hiker: Clean Hikers is a group that aims to create a healthier outdoor life and outdoor culture, starting from picking up trash in the mountains. That is why it is a group that can pick up trash in the mountains, collect the trash that he picks up, work on junk art, and deliver social messages by planning projects that can convey various environmental messages.]

Q.'Clean Hiker' Activity SNS posting… Do you feel the change?

[Kim Kang-eun/Clean hiker: I am completely experiencing it a lot. In fact, even if I do it once, the world does not change or it does not, but I have been doing this activity for almost 3-4 years now. At first, actually, when I posted this recruitment post, about 5 people just sent a message to me, but now I go on a clean hike together. It became an activity. In a way, it seems that these areas have become such an activity that very young people and those who enjoy the new influx of mountains want to do something together.]

Q. Recruitment through SNS... Are there any rules for'clean mountaineering'?

[Kim Yeon-sil/Clean Hiker: There are three rules for our clean hikers. First, safety is our top priority, so we don't pick up trash in dangerous places. And secondly, we often go with lunch boxes. In such a case, we do not use disposable items, and finally, we recommend a healthy outdoor culture, and we aim to write honorific words without asking each other about age or occupation through mutual etiquette.]

Q. What message do you want to convey as junk art?

[Kim Kang-eun/Clean hiker: Actually, it happened by chance because I picked up a lot of trash, but I didn't say, “Don't throw this trash out,” but using that trash to create an image or shape on a mountain, it attracts attention. Also. A lot of people sympathize with it and think it fresh, and I would like to share stories with teachers and parents with children. They tell me a lot like this.

Q. I would like to ask people who hike

.

Mean?

[Kim Yeon-sil/Clean hiker: It's a little common, because fruit peels and cockle peels are often found. There are a lot of people who think that wooden chopsticks will rot even if you throw them away. However, in the case of wooden chopsticks, logging is also a problem when producing, but because it is coated, it takes about 20 years for it to rot if it is thrown away in nature. And even in the case of fruit peels, pesticides that can remain there in trace amounts can act as deadly poisons to small insects and animals living in the mountains, and damage the friend's reproductive organs and disturb the ecosystem. . So, we just collect all the trash we brought to the mountain, I think it would be great if you have such a mind.]

[Kim Kang-eun/Clean hiker: And there is something we often say, let's become a person who likes mountains rather than become a person who likes mountains." So it's not just that we enjoy it, it's important to keep as much as we get from such beautiful things, and to keep it sustainable as it is, so many people focus on enjoying it while looking for a mountain. Rather, how can I minimize the impact and pass this on for a long time? I think it would be great to think about these things.]

Q.'Clean hiker' activity ‥What is the most rewarding moment?

[Kim Yeon-sil/Clean hiker: It seems to be very rewarding when the results are seen when everything is gathered together. When one person gathers, it's only one bag. When we all gathered together, there were times when 100L bags were filled, and there were just 3-4 people who picked up 20kg of trash. When such results come out, oh, we worked really hard today. It seems to be a little rewarding.]

Q. What dreams do you want to achieve through'Clean Hiker' activities?

[Kim Kang-eun/Clean hiker: Actually, I keep dreaming while doing this kind of activity. It's fun and we're together, so we share stories, but first of all, we're making junk art pieces one by one and one by one. How about opening some exhibitions that gathered the photos and what we were doing like this, how about opening a junk art exhibition? in that day will this idea everyone Would not it be nice if gathered in his Outlaw mountains and where the mountains so that the campaign to pick up the trash that some public made something.

[gimyeonsil / clean hikers: How to look at it that trash pick up in the mountains It may seem very painful, but if you look at the activities we do, you can feel a little that it is not always painful. It is really fun to participate and anyone who goes to the mountain should do this. With this kind of mindset, clean hikers are not the only way to clean the mountain. If it spreads a lot, I don't think there is anything to be desired.]
