Another case which may not plead in favor of R. Kelly.

Michael Williams, a man known to be close to one of the singer's agents, pleaded guilty in federal court in Brooklyn, admitting to setting fire to a car parked outside the home of an ex of the singer, ready to testify against him.

, he would have set fire to an SUV "parked in front of a residence where an alleged victim of R. Kelly lived".

Also according to the publication, he should be sentenced on October 5 and risks up to 71 months in prison.

His ties to the R & B star, on the other hand, were not mentioned during his appearance in court, but he never denied them.

The noose tightens

Last August, the New York prosecutor's office announced the charges against Michael Williams and two other men also linked to R. Kelly. The first, Richae Arline Jr., also pleaded guilty last February to having tried to bribe an alleged victim of the interpreter of

, to silence her. The third man, Donnell Russell, who describes himself as a manager and friend of R. Kelly, has, according to CNN, pleaded not guilty after being accused of harassing and threatening several accusers of the singer. The news channel said in November that he was, however, negotiating with the prosecutor's office.

R. Kelly has been incarcerated in Chicago since 2019, where he awaits several trials related to sex crimes, to which he has pleaded not guilty.

His first trial, in New York, will begin on August 9.
