In the latest episode of the American long-running The Simpsons, the character Lisa becomes obsessed with a depressed, British Indian artist and militant vegan named Quilloghby, who sang in the band the Snuffs in the 80's.

But it turns out that Quilloghby, whose voice is played by Bennedict Cumberbatch, has now become a bitter, overweight, xenophobic carnivore.

The character Quilloghby's parables to the British Indian artist and former singer in the band the Smiths, Morrissey were several and already the same day the artist, via his manager, commented on the episode on Facebook.

"When a series reaches such a low level that they use hatred and portray Morrissey with his stomach hanging outside the shirt (when he has never looked like this before in his career) it makes you think who it really is that is hateful and racist"

Not just inspired by Morrissey

The series' screenwriter Tim Long has not yet commented on the artist's statement, but has previously said in an article with the Variety that the character Quilloghby from the episode

Panic on the streets of Springfield is

not only based on Morrissey.

The character is Morrissey-like, but with a little bit of Robert Smith from The Cure, Ian Curtis from Joy Division and several others ".
