According to the official Weibo news of the Press Office of the Weihai Economic and Technological Development Zone in Shandong Province, at 22:07 on April 19, the passenger and cargo ship "Zhonghua Fuqiang" was found on the way from Weihai to Dalian. A truck in the cabin showed smoke and returned to Weihai Port.
Relevant departments of Weihai City quickly initiated emergency response and properly evacuated passengers and crew on board.
At about 11:40 on April 20, a deflagration occurred during the rescue process, and there were no casualties at the scene.
On-site disposal is being carried out quickly, and the cause of the accident is under investigation.
