In India, regional elections are held throughout April to renew the Parliament of the West Bengal region, based in Calcutta.
Regional ballot with a national dimension, because Bengal is one of the last regions to resist the rise of the Hindu Nationalist Party of BJP, held by the Indian Prime Minister.
The head of the regional government, Mamata Banerjee, is also one of the fiercest opponents of Narendra Modi and she is therefore fighting for her political survival.
A fierce campaign followed by our special correspondent, Sébastien Farcis.
