The frightening duplication of comedy formats in television programs and on streaming platforms is not a consequence of the pandemic.

The comedy boom started much earlier, see the successes of Mario Barth, Kaya Yanar or Cindy from Marzahn.

But Corona has apparently increased the need for formats with well-known comedians again.

Where there is not much to laugh about in everyday life, the on-screen comedians become the pastimes and - in the best case - mood-lifters of the nation.

In the worst case, however, they become unreasonable, which impressively confirm the deplorable level of the German craft of humor.
