She gave the officer "water of fire" .. Who is the "murderer of Kerdasa"?
The Egyptian series "Choice 2" featured harsh scenes of a woman who gave a policeman in Kerdasa police station "water from fire" after he asked for some water because of his thirst.
The episode achieved high levels of viewership from the series presented in the month of Ramadan, which dealt with the dispersal of the Muslim Brotherhood’s sit-in in the Rab'a al-Adawiya and al-Nahda districts in Cairo, in August 2013.
However, the scene of the woman, who was later known as the "Kerdasa butcher" or "the mother of the extremists", drew attention very strongly .. Who is this woman?
It is Samia Shanan, a vegetable seller who was sentenced to death, along with 182 other people accused of storming the Kerdasa police station, killing his officers and mutilating their corpses.
Investigations into the case indicated that Samia Shanan, along with dozens of people, participated in the killing of 14 officers and security personnel of the Kerdasa police station, in addition to participating in the siege of the center and throwing Molotov cocktails at those inside.
The investigations confirmed that the "Kerdasa Slaughter" dragged the officers outside the headquarters of the police station, and attacked them with white weapons, in addition to giving a quantity of "fire water" to one of the policemen inside while he was dying.
The series "Choice 2" shed light during the episode on the storming of the Kerdasa police station by terrorist elements, coinciding with the dispersal of the Rab'a and Al-Nahda sit-ins, using a number of weapons such as the "RPG" that appeared in real videos that were broadcast in the course of the drama.
The investigations of the case also confirmed that there are other clips that recorded the attack on officers and members of the Kerdasa police station, and the Ministry of Interior published a video of Samia Shanan while she was participating in the representation of the bodies of the officers, pulling the buttons of what she described as her "sons" during the operations of sabotaging the department and burning its cars and armored vehicles.
Samia Shanan was first sentenced to death by hanging on February 2, 2015, along with a large number of defendants in the case, but the Court of Cassation overturned the verdict and she was tried again.
Life imprisonment
In July 2017, the "Kerdasa butch" was sentenced to life imprisonment in the case in which she was accused of mutilating the corpses of the officers after they were slaughtered and stripped of their clothes inside the department, to be the only woman accused in the case.
The "mother of the extremists" was arrested in September 2013 after a major campaign in which the security forces tried to cleanse the Kerdasa area and arrest all the criminal elements participating in the storming of the police station.
