Since Saturday, the number of Covid-19 patients in intensive care has returned to just below the bar of 5,900 people, a threshold which remains very high but far from the peak of the first wave, in April 2020, with 7,000 patients.

The number of Covid-19 patients hospitalized in intensive care remained below 5,900 people on Sunday, despite a slight increase, according to figures published by Public Health France. On Sunday, there were 5,893 people in critical care services (which include resuscitation, intensive care and continuous monitoring), against 5,877 on Saturday. In 24 hours, 233 patients were admitted to these services which treat the most serious cases, against 359 the day before.

On Saturday the number of patients in sheaves was back below the 5,900 mark, crossed at the start of the week.

Thresholds, however, still far from the peak of the first wave in April 2020 (7,000).

On the other hand, the total number of people in the hospital has risen, with 30,789 coronavirus positive patients currently hospitalized, against 30,329 the day before.

A total of 1,111 people have been hospitalized in the past 24 hours.
