Benizuwai crab fishing began last month off the coast of Hiyama in Hokkaido, and freshly caught crabs are being landed at the port of Esashi Town.

Before dawn on the 18th, a fishing boat that had been fishing for crab cages off the coast of Hiyama arrived at Esashi Port and landed about 12 tons of freshly caught crabs one after another.

Fishing started in the middle of last month, and the fishing boat landed on the 18th departed on the 16th of this month and continued fishing while changing the fishing grounds.

The snow crab off the coast of Hiyama is characterized by its strong sweetness and rich miso, which means that fishing will continue until the end of August and will be shipped not only in Hokkaido but also throughout the country through online sales.

Mr. Matsuda, managing director of a fishery company that owns a fishing boat, said, "We are fishing smoothly. Esashi crabs have a strong sweetness and are delicious, so please try them."
