In 2017, Sandrine Quétier suddenly stopped animating TV shows to devote herself to an artistic career.

The one who is now an actress in the TF1 series "Léo Matteï, brigade des minors", broadcast every Thursday evening, explains in the program "It feels good" the reasons for her decision.

INTERVIEW

She is back on TF1, but not at the head of a show.

Sandrine Quétier plays in the new season of the

Léo Matteï

series

, the miners' brigade

, launched last week.

The former TV host explains Thursday in the show

It feels good

why she decided in 2017 to abandon her old career to embark on the profession of singer and actress.

A choice "not at all complicated" to make, she says, although she initially divided her income by more than four.

A label that sticks to the skin

"That doesn't matter, it's math," she says.

"I was already playing comedy, I was making music, but I didn't devote myself to it as much as I wanted. And I didn't want to end up bitter with regrets that I didn't."

Sandrine Quétier therefore made a radical choice: to stand up to the wall, stop the TV and start from scratch.

It was on France 3 that she then landed her first role, in the detective series

However, this "change of label" was not natural.

"It's extremely complicated in France," observes the actress, who believes that her past as a host is sometimes a brake.

"All I ask is to pass the castings," she explains.

"Afterwards, they take me or they don't take me, but I ask at least to have this opportunity. This is not always the case."

A talent spotted by Nikos

Side characters, the actress has a preference for a certain type of roles: "the real villains".

Which contrasts with its public image.

"It's because I look nice that I don't want roles like this," she explains.

"I would love to play twisted, complex characters."

If there is one person who was not surprised by the reconversion of Sandrine Quétier, it is Nikos Aliagas, with whom she hosted the show

"When we were shooting the show, we had a good time. We told a lot of nonsense, and we spent more time filming things that could not be edited, than things that were on the air," recalls the actress.

"You are an actress, you have to be an actress" said her sidekick then.

"It's been more than ten years that Nikos told me that. It's true that it reasoned a little bit," says Sandrine Quétier.
