France 3 broadcasts on Wednesday evening the first episode of a batch of four issues of its program “La carte aux trésors”.

Its presenter Cyril Féraud explains the same day in "Culture Médias" how the program adapts to the health rules linked to the Covid-19 pandemic.

It also specifies the environmental impact of the program.

INTERVIEW

A comeback, without much change, but with some notable adaptations.

The treasure map

returns Wednesday evening at 9:05 pm on the antenna of France 3. Viewers will always see two candidates trying to solve puzzles to reach a treasure.

The program now imposes new instructions on them, linked to the Covid-19 health crisis.

The presenter Cyril Féraud specifies them in

Culture Médias,

Wednesday.

"Obviously, we see people with masks, but now everyone is used to them," he observes.

"But that has changed absolutely nothing in the game, except that now the candidates have poles which allow them to interview passers-by while being at a good sanitary distance".

New instructions have however been introduced, in particular concerning the hitchhiking of the candidates.

"The only rule that we had to change is that candidates are now prohibited, for example, from getting into a garbage truck and being glued to the driver," says Cyril Féraud.

"They have to sit at the back and diagonally to the driver, to be far enough away."

"To remove the helicopters is to remove the game"

In the episode of Wednesday evening,

The treasure map

takes the direction of the Basque Country and Béarn.

The majestic landscapes are therefore on the program, always filmed with helicopters.

It is also with these devices that the candidates move from one test to another.

A device absolutely not ecological, but so emblematic of the show that Cyril Féraud can not imagine doing without.

"To remove the helicopters, it is to remove the game, since it is the only means of transport which makes it possible to offer such beautiful images from the air", recalls the presenter.

"We use helicopters at a minimum, and drones whenever possible. The Tour de France and all heritage shows also use helicopters, but they do not show them.

The treasure map also

offsets the carbon footprint. helicopters, but also all the vehicles used to travel by production teams. Very few emissions do so in France. "
