Netflix has announced the renewal of Shonda Rhimes' series for seasons 3 and 4.

"I put all my heart into the creation of this series"

“I put all my heart into creating this series and the way the world continues to adore it never ceases to amaze me.

Thank you, Netflix, ”said Chris Van Dusen.

"The Bridgerton Chronicle has won us over," Bela Bajaria, vice president in charge of all Netflix TV productions, said in a statement.

“The creative team, led by Shonda [Rhimes], knew the material and delivered a beautiful and emotional romantic drama for our members.

They have exciting plans for the future, and we think audiences will continue to swoon over this series.

We intend to be in the Bridgerton area for a long time to come, ”she continued.

It is certain that Chris Van Dusen is not likely to run out of inspiration, the literary saga of Julia Quinn, from which the series is adapted, comprises no less than 11 volumes!

“From the first time I read

Julia Quinn's

delightful

Bridgerton

series

, I knew these were stories that would captivate audiences,” said Shonda Rhimes.

"A strong vote of confidence"

And to add "But the evolution of this adaptation would not be a success without the many and important contributions of all the team of Shondaland.

This choice to renew us for two seasons is a strong vote of confidence and I am incredibly grateful to have partners as collaborative and creative as Netflix.

Betsy [Beers, executive producer of the series alongside Shonda Rhimes] and I are delighted to have the opportunity to continue to introduce the world of Bridgerton to a global audience.

"

The second season will follow the love affairs of Daphne's older brother, Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey), a story based on The Viscount Who Loved Me, the second volume of the saga.

It goes without saying that seasons 3 and 4 should follow the order of the books, either An Offer From A Gentleman, dedicated to Benedict Bridgerton (Luke Thompson), then Romancing Mister Bridgerton, dedicated to Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton) and Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan).
