On April 12, the Sichuan Provincial Management Bureau of the Giant Panda National Park announced a rare scene of the courtship battle between two wild giant pandas.

During the monitoring of the breeding behavior of giant pandas in the wild, researchers from the Tangjiahe area of ​​the Guangyuan Management Branch of the Sichuan Provincial Administration of the Giant Panda National Park photographed precious scenes of two wild giant pandas fighting in courtship. This is also the first record of this in the Sichuan area of ​​the Giant Panda National Park. Class lens.

  Every year from March to May is the estrus period of giant pandas. On March 20th, researchers in Tangjiahe area officially launched the monitoring of giant panda's wild breeding behavior.

In early April, researchers in Motianling area heard the sounds of pandas in estrus and courtship one after another.

On April 6, in the coniferous and broad mixed forest belt at an altitude of 2,300 meters, the monitors were pleasantly surprised to find the giant panda. They climbed the mountain ridge to observe and recorded the whole process with a camera: two adult giant pandas were in a spruce tree Chase, fight, and stop to rest when you get tired.

Finally, one of the giant pandas withdrew from the fight and retreated into the thickets. The whole process lasted 3 hours.

  The video has been identified by the expert of the Expert Committee of the Sichuan Provincial Administration of Giant Panda National Park, Hu Jinchu, the leader of Chinese zoology research, the first person in giant panda research, and it is the normal courtship behavior of two adult giant pandas, one male and one female.

  According to scientific researchers, the Motianling area is mainly rich in the resources of Fargesia vulgaris and Fargesia serrata. It is also a frequent activity area for wild animals such as Sichuan takin, golden monkey, golden cat, black bear, and red-bellied horned pheasant.

In 2021, 5 images of wild pandas have been recorded in this area.
