　　Technicians are conducting artificial breeding of the mullet in the national-level original breeding base of the fishery research institute of Wanzhou District, Chongqing.

According to reports, because of the long reproductive cycle and high embryo mortality, the population of mullet is difficult to increase rapidly, so artificial reproduction is required.

Technicians transfer the mullet from the outdoor parent breeding pond to the indoor spawning area, weigh, number, and inject artificial oxytocin on each fish.
