When I first arrived in Manhai, facing the hot climate and severe vehicle exhaust, Binda was not comfortable at one time, and stayed in the kennel like a shy child for three days.

After adaptability training, Binda quickly adapted to the new environment, and seemed very excited every time he went to the on-duty scene.

On the first day of work, Binda assisted the police in inspecting more than 500 pieces of luggage and 100 vehicles.

In the days that followed, Binda lived a busy and fulfilling life at the Manhai border checkpoint, checking luggage, responding, training, resting...

For Binda, May 17, 2017 was a day of glory.

On the same day, during a routine inspection of a passing pickup truck and the driver, the personnel on duty found that the driver looked flustered and looked suspicious, but did not find any suspicious objects in the car.

Later, under the command of the trainer, Binda found an abnormality in the spare tire of the vehicle.

Later, the X-ray scanner found that there were many suspicious lumps in the tires.

After disassembly and inspection, the personnel on duty seized 45 pieces of heroin from the tires on the spot, with a net weight of 15.71 kg.

Because of his outstanding performance, Binda was assessed as a second-class meritorious dog.

"One year old dog is equivalent to 7 years old for human beings. When he retired, Binda was in his sixtieth year. However, even after retiring, Binda has always been active on the frontline of drug control." said Yi Maozhi, the director of the Manhai border checkpoint. In January 2020, with the assistance of Binda, the personnel on duty seized 13 kilograms of drugs in two gray canvas bags on a logistics truck.

This year, entering April, Binda was extremely disturbed.

Even if the veterinarian diagnosed and treated him, he still didn't get better.

Every day, only when it sees the port on duty, the mood stabilizes for a while.

"Binda sits at the top of the stairs every day, staring at the port on duty for a long time. There is the battlefield it loves most." The trainer said that on the morning of the 11th, Binda arrived at the Manhai Bridge and completed its last patrol at the port on duty. Soon, he left everyone forever.

The police at the Manhai border checkpoint dug a tomb in the camp’s fruit forest as a resting place for Binda.

The tombstone faces the place where Binda used to perform duties.
