Journalist Morgan Large, who works in particular for Radio Kreiz Breizh on agri-food subjects in Brittany, is a guest of Culture Médias.

Last week, a rally was organized in support of her, after one of her car wheels was unbolted.

She warns about the threats that affect all her colleagues.

TESTIMONY

Journalist Morgan Large is the subject of threats because of her investigative work on the agoral food sector in Brittany, in particular for the associative radio station Radio Kreiz Breizh.

A rally of support was held last week after his car was vandalized with one of the wheels unbolted.

The journalist explains in

 Culture Médias that

the threats are more and more numerous for investigative journalists.

"My investigations relate to things which, I find, are not too much debate anyway. The last was on the policy of the Brittany region in terms of agriculture. And in particular the aid of 50,000 euros per large henhouse, which raises questions.Environmental associations tell us that Brittany is in environmental overheating and that it is absolutely necessary to reduce the number of animals. We see that the phenomenon of green algae is not at all in the process of being resolved.

I am afraid that my house will be set on fire when I am sleeping, I am afraid that there will be other attacks, less frontal.

I haven't been to the field since my car was vandalized on March 31, I was on vacation.

I wonder how I'm going to dare to go places I used to go for work in a very relaxed way.

Recordings deleted at the request of the gendarmes

I'm starting another investigation and I'm getting threats over the phone.

I make a phone call to a very large cooperative to do an interview, they tell me that they haven't ordered anything from me, and they refuse to answer me.

I would add that I would say that they did not wish to speak.

I am told that if I do that I would be sued for libel and I would be in trouble.

A simple phone call can lead to this.

It is more and more complicated to cover its subjects, journalists are accused of being activists.

The Demeter cell also raises concerns for our work.

It is supposed to protect farmers against agribashing, around the national gendarmerie, and it really raises questions.

A German journalist was forced to delete her audio recordings by the gendarmes, after a dispute with a farmer.

"I'll complain"

This makes me wonder about the rest of my story.

I will file a complaint, but I do not know who will be seized of the investigation.

After this episode, I wonder about the necessary hindsight of the gendarmerie.

I am going to file a complaint, with the help of Reporters Without Borders, because I want this complaint to succeed.

I don't want this to happen to my colleagues, who are just as exposed as I am and are also going through difficult times.

Being arrested in the public space is normal.

No longer being invited to a press conference is already much less normal.

But to attack the life and security of people and their families is completely unacceptable. "
