Before the spring holiday season, at the roadside station in Ono City, Fukui Prefecture, work was done to install a model of a dinosaur parent and child stored in a warehouse to avoid snow during the winter.
At "Roadside Station Kuzuryu" along the national highway in Izumi, Ono City, a model of a Tyrannosaurus parent and child, which is close to the actual size, is installed after a fossil of a Tyrannosaurus companion was found nearby.
During the winter, it was stored in a nearby warehouse so that it would not be damaged by the weight of the snow, but for the first time in about 4 months on the 12th, employees of the roadside station went out and the roadside station was about 1 km away. I pulled it on the national highway by truck.
The total length of the model is 12 meters for parents and 4 meters for children, and the employees arrived at the roadside station in about 30 minutes while carefully pulling the model on the dolly.
The model sometimes barks loudly and the upper body moves, and when the installation work is completed and the dinosaurs move in the usual place, tourists who stop by see the powerful figure and take pictures. I was taking pictures.
Shigeru Furukawa, Planning Chief of the Industrial Policy Division of Ono City, said, "The dinosaur parent and child, which is the symbol of the roadside station, are back. Please come and see this dinosaur parent and child."
Models of dinosaur parents and children will be installed at the roadside station until around November when it begins to snow, and will welcome tourists.
