  In her speech, Carrie Lam pointed out that the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress passed the newly revised Annex I and Annex II of the Hong Kong Basic Law in March to improve the electoral system of the SAR and lay an important foundation for the stability and long-term development of "One Country, Two Systems".

  She continued that under the improved electoral system, the sports, performing arts, culture and publishing sector will continue to be the constituent sectors of the Election Committee and the Legislative Council, and the 30 members of the Election Committee subsector will be more widely representative and relevant to the industry.
