While the executive is banking on the acceleration of the vaccination campaign to emerge from the coronavirus epidemic, France should receive a total of 12 million doses of vaccines for the month of April, 15 million in May, and 28 million in June.

DECRYPTION

Faced with the third wave of the coronavirus epidemic which continues to put hospitals under pressure, the way out is in particular through vaccination.

After more than 400,000 injections on Thursday, the pace further accelerated on Friday (more than 500,000 injections).

In total, the Directorate General of Health identified on Saturday 3.685 million people who received the two necessary injections, and 10.745 million a first injection.

For the executive, the goal is now to reach 20 million French people vaccinated on May 15, then 30 million on June 15.

But will he be able to achieve these goals?

The goal is to open vaccination to people under 50 in mid-June.

To keep up, the vaccines will need to be delivered as planned.

AstraZeneca has announced delivery delays for April across the European Union, but that will not impact the schedule, the government assures.

Coronavirus: follow the evolution of the situation Sunday April 11

On paper, by adding the doses of Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca, but also the Janssen vaccine, which will arrive in a week, France should receive a total of 12 million doses of vaccines for the month of April, 15 million in May. , and 28 million in June.

From mid-May, Moderna and Pfizer will represent two-thirds of deliveries

If we manage to sell these doses at the rate of 250,000 injections per day, Saturday included, the target of 20 million vaccinated on May 15 will be met.

But for the moment, the vaccinators are not yet able to keep this rhythm throughout the week.

Then, the objective of 30 million French people vaccinated on June 15 will be easier to meet since France will normally receive from mid-May enough to vaccinate 330,000 French people per day.

The injections will then be done mainly in vaccination centers, since Moderna and especially Pfizer vaccines will represent two thirds of our deliveries.
