"Tagesschau" spokeswoman Linda Zervakis stops.

On April 26th, she will read the main edition of the news program for the last time, informed the North German Broadcasting (NDR) responsible for the “Tagesschau” to the Evangelical Press Service (epd) on Friday upon request.

The 45-year-old has been the spokesperson for the “Tagesschau” since 2010, and since 2013 also the main edition at 8 pm.

"The 'Tagesschau' very much regrets having to do without Linda Zervakis," said the NDR statement.

The entire team valued her as a person and colleague.

The moderator wanted to change her career at her own request.

"We wish her all the best for her future journey," it said.

Linda Zervakis was born in Hamburg in 1975.

After a traineeship at radio and a TV production company, she came to NDR in 2001.

Among other things, she presented the news on the radio program N-JOY.

From 2004 she also worked in front of the camera as a newscaster and reporter for the "Schleswig-Holstein Magazin" before she came to ARD-aktuell.
