Ibaraki Prefecture and Mito City announced on the 9th that 38 new people have been confirmed to be infected with the new coronavirus, bringing the total number of people confirmed to be infected in the prefecture to 7031.
According to the prefecture, 12 of the confirmed infections by the 9th were found to have been infected with the mutated coronavirus.
Infection with the mutated virus has now been confirmed in 50 people in the prefecture.
