Spring Entertainment launched "Olivia 2053", an Arabic animation film produced by Lebanese directed to adults, on the YouTube platform. The feature film is set in the year 2053 in the Republic of "Olivia", a fictional Arab country.

The film, whose idea was crystallized by the author Rabie Sweidan, and put his directing touches to director George Abu Haya, tells an unexpected overlap of the fate of three characters who race with time to reveal the source of a cyber attack that penetrated the most sophisticated security apparatus, in a system that is considered one of the most authoritarian regimes in history.

The film features a unique digital experience, allowing viewers to immerse themselves in and dive into the fictional world of Olivia in the year 2053, through the website www.alephia.xyz.

"Olivia 2053" is the first and only animation film in Arabic that imagines a hypothetical future.

Executive producer and idea owner Rabih Sweidan says: “We grew up among the cartoon books, and in a world full of chaos, which prompted us to use animation as a way to express our reality. We cooperated with distinguished Lebanese talents in order to produce an exceptional work for the Middle East region. Five days from its launch, to get more than 1.2 million views, in the hope that we have registered a breach in this area.

The painter and director, George Abumahia, explains that “the illustrations that set the film’s course are based on creating easy-to-move characters, as well as using flexible backgrounds that can be dealt with in all stages of production, without compromising the idea and design,” indicating that he avoided “the usual visual patterns.” In order to present a model work capable of attracting the viewer ».

Executive Producer Marwan Harb said: “We wanted to break the stereotypical method of producing animated films, and unlike other mega-animation productions in the Middle East, (Olivia 2053) emerged from the creativity of local talents.
