They took longer than expected to find solid ground.

The New Republic of the Pyrenees

indicates that four paratroopers from the 1st Parachute Hussar Regiment of Tarbes (1er RHP) were successively rescued by firefighters Wednesday afternoon in the vicinity of the military camp of Ger (Hautes-Pyrénées) where they were performing jumps training.

Wind?

Drop error?

Four soldiers found themselves stranded, perched fifteen meters high in the treetops.

For this delicate rescue, the firefighters had to call on their specialists from the Reconnaissance and Intervention Group in Perilous Environment (Grimp).

Three of the paratroopers came out unscathed from this episode but a fourth, slightly injured, was evacuated to Tarbes hospital.
