On April 8, the Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Carrie Lam, said when attending a question-and-answer meeting in the Legislative Council that he is currently preparing to extend the "Easy Return to Hong Kong" program to areas outside of Guangdong and at the same time allow some mainlanders to "Easy to Hong Kong".

According to the "Easy Return to Hong Kong" program, Hong Kong residents who meet the relevant requirements can be exempted from quarantine for 14 days when returning to Hong Kong from Guangdong Province and Macau.
