In response to the rapid spread of the new coronavirus, Okinawa Prefecture has been consulted by the government regarding the application of "priority measures such as spread prevention" that enable intensive measures even if the government has not declared a state of emergency. In response, we have decided to make a request.

In Okinawa Prefecture, the infection of the new coronavirus spread rapidly again from last month, and from the 1st of this month, 20 municipalities centered on the central and southern part of the main island of Okinawa requested restaurants to shorten their business hours until 9 pm. It is restarting.

On the other hand, according to the people concerned, the government has asked for the application of "priority measures such as spread prevention" that enable intensive measures even if the government has not declared a state of emergency.

In response to this, Okinawa Prefecture decided to make a request as a result of holding an urgent executive meeting on the afternoon of the 8th.

At first, Okinawa Prefecture was cautious about applying priority measures because it had a large economic impact, but on the 8th, the infection spread, with 140 people being confirmed to be infected, which is the third largest number so far. It seems that it was decided that the application of the priority measures had to be accepted without stopping.
