TNT is enriched with a new channel, starting Thursday.

This new channel is a bit special, since it already existed on the Internet.

This is the Arte.tv platform.

We already knew that it was going to be broadcast on TNT from April 2021. But its launch date, announced the day before, comes as a surprise.

It's a somewhat special channel that lands on TNT on Thursday.

It is indeed a platform, that of Arte, Arte.tv.

We already knew that it was going to be broadcast on TNT, on channel 77 more precisely, in April.

But we still did not know the day of its launch.

Arte.tv has a 6-month broadcast license for the moment.

Arte.tv is now a free channel, also available on the Orange and Free boxes.

Discussions are continuing with the other operators, SFR and Bouygues Télécom.

But Arte is hopeful.

Arte's goal is to make its platform accessible to as many people as possible.

"Today, Arte is no longer just a channel, it is also a platform", explains its president, Bruno Patino.

"It's been a few years since we transformed the catch-up site into a platform, which offers series all seasons immediately. 65% of what is present on Arte.tv was not broadcast on Arte les To live the Arte experience, you have to know both the channel and the platform. And, so that everyone can have this experience, we want Arte.tv to be available on the everyone's televisions. "

Complementarity between the chain and the platform

Arte.tv is one of the great successes of the Franco-German group, with 58 million views on average each month in 2020. A success driven by series, notably

No man's land

”or even

In therapy, with

a little more 40 million views for the series by Eric Toledano and Olivier Nakache.

Could this success harm Arte, the historic channel?

Not at all, according to Bruno Patino.

“These two editorial proposals are equally important,” he explains.

"The use of the platform does not kill the use of the linear television channel: they are two different experiences."

Arte.tv is therefore to be discovered from Thursday, on channel 77 of TNT.
