Persona non grata - Soran Ismail portrays the comedian Soran Ismail's life after he was accused of several sexual crimes - including rape.

The idea was to show the limbo state he ended up in when, in the eyes of society, he is considered guilty, but legally innocent.

Criticism has been directed at the documentary and SVT since the premiere yesterday for not including the reporting women's perspective.

SVT has replied that they have sought several women through their plaintiff's assistants, but no one has wanted to participate.

Not critical enough

The weekly review has spoken to one of the women who reported the comedian.

- I did not want to participate because I was afraid of how they would use my words, and that they would be shaped according to their agenda.

And I could not bear to go into it, it's so dirty.

The woman also states that she did not think that the documentary would be critical of Ismail because it would mainly be about his view of what happened.

The preliminary investigation into the reports was dropped and Soran Ismail has denied the accusations.

In March 2020, a woman was convicted of gross slander after writing in a closed Facebook group that Ismail had subjected her to sexual harassment.

Kulturnyheterna has searched for one of the women who reported Soran Ismail.
