Ibaraki Prefecture and Mito City announced on the 7th that they have confirmed that 46 new people have been infected with the new coronavirus.
So far, a total of 6954 people have been confirmed to be infected in the prefecture.
According to the prefecture, eight of the confirmed infections by the 7th were found to have been infected with the mutated coronavirus.
Infection with the mutated virus has now been confirmed in 34 people in the prefecture.
