The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) is concerned about the increasing spread of the coronavirus in daycare centers and schools.

"The number of cases of Covid-19 is increasing again in all age groups, but particularly strongly among children and adolescents," says the institute's newsletter published on Wednesday.

The latter “also increasingly made transfers”.

In those over 80 years of age, the trend in infections, which has been falling for weeks, has therefore not continued.

In the majority of corona cases, the location of the infection is not known, the RKI report continues.

Outbreaks currently particularly affect private households, but increasingly also daycare centers, schools and the professional environment.

In contrast, the number of outbreaks in old people's and nursing homes has decreased.

According to Prime Minister Markus Söder, Bavaria will sign a preliminary contract with a company in Illertissen for the purchase of the Russian vaccine Sputnik V on Wednesday.

"If Sputnik is approved in Europe, the Free State of Bavaria will receive additional vaccination doses through this company - I think there are 2.5 million vaccination doses - probably in July in order to increase the additional vaccination capacities in Bavaria," said the CSU Politician in Munich.
