This is the scenery of the spring flower road in Yeouido, Seoul today (6th).

In early April, the cherry blossoms are in full bloom, and the cherry blossoms in full bloom last week have already fallen by more than half.

[Hyuk-ui Hong/Gimpo-si, Gyeonggi-do: It was a little disappointing that the petals were also far apart when I came here.

Certainly, the temperature has risen a lot and it seems to have gotten a lot hotter.]

Cherry blossoms bloomed 17 days earlier than normal in Seoul this year, and it bloomed the fastest in 99 years of weather observation.

The Yeouido Spring Flower Festival also decided to close four days ahead of the scheduled schedule.

The reason why the flowering time has accelerated is because the spring temperature has risen significantly.

The average temperature in March this year was 8.9 degrees, the warmest March ever.

Both the average and maximum temperatures were 3 degrees higher than normal.

The high temperature phenomenon occurred because the Siberian high pressure, which blows cold air on the Korean peninsula, did not develop.

Temperatures in Siberia have risen by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius compared to normal as cold air is trapped in the strong jet stream over the Arctic.

The effect of La Niña raised the water temperature in the western Pacific Ocean, and this influence brought warm air from the high pressure created near our country into the Korean Peninsula, which is the reason for the temperature rise.

In fact, in the last 10 years, according to meteorological classification, spring and summer have been longer by four days and winter has been shorter by a week.

Due to this effect, the Meteorological Administration predicts that the temperature will be similar to or higher than normal until June this year.
