When we investigated the motivation of people arrested by the police for drunk driving in Fukui prefecture last year, we found that about 30% of the respondents thought they would not be caught.

According to the Fukui Prefectural Police Headquarters, last year, a total of 156 people were arrested for drunken inspections in the prefecture.



When we investigated the motives of drunk driving for those who were arrested, 52 people said "I thought I would not be caught by the police", which was about 30%, "I drove because it was close", 34 people, "Because the amount of drinking is small. "I thought it was good" was 13 people.



In line with the welcome party season at the beginning of the year, the police are urging people not to drive under the influence of alcohol by deciding in advance a handle keeper who will not drink alcohol, and will strengthen the crackdown by inspections.



The Fukui Prefectural Police Headquarters Traffic Guidance Division says, "If you drink, never drive and try not to let people around you drive under the influence of alcohol."
