"Clubhouse" launches a payment feature for content creators

The Club House audio app mentioned that it will launch a payment feature for content creators on its platform without it getting any money for it.

Clubhouse said that, from Monday, all users will be able to send money via the app.

The feature to receive payments will initially be available to a small test group and then available to others.

Users can send money to clubhouse content makers who have this feature activated by entering their profile and then selecting "Send Money".

The audio social network said that its partner, Stripe, for electronic payment services, will be charged a small fee for processing a credit or debit card that the application will request to add upon the first payment attempt.

Access to the app's chat rooms, based in San Francisco, is only possible through invitations from current members.

Clubhouse was launched in early 2020 and the number of its users rose globally after billionaire Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, and Vlad Tennev, CEO of Robin Hood, had a surprise discussion on the app.

However, the app has faced criticism over reports of misogynistic, anti-Semitic views and false information about COVID-19 on its platform despite the existence of rules against racism, hate speech, abuse and false information.
