Qiu Haibo, deputy dean of the Zhongda Hospital affiliated to Southeast University, which participated in the treatment of the wounded, said that the victims of the accident are mainly young and middle-aged, and the trauma surgery of the wounded in the hospital has been completed.

  According to a report from the Public Security Bureau of Yancheng City, Jiangsu Province, at about 0:51 on the 4th, a road traffic accident occurred on the G15 Shenhai Expressway at 898km from south to north.

A heavy-duty container semi-trailer broke through the central isolation belt of the road and hit a large ordinary passenger car traveling in the opposite direction. After that, two heavy-duty semi-trailer tractors behind the bus could not make way for a rear-end collision.

The accident has caused 11 deaths and 19 injuries, and the injured have been sent to the local hospital for treatment.

  "All trauma operations for the injured in the accident have been completed." Qiu Haibo said that 15 of the 19 injured are currently in stable condition, and 4 injured are rescued in the ICU.

After continuous rescue from the early morning to now, the situation of the four injured is relatively stable.

The most prominent part of the traffic accident was the fracture injury. Fortunately, the injured were mainly young and middle-aged, with good physical conditions and timely treatment.

  Qiu Haibo said that at present, the medical team involved in the treatment of the wounded is composed of national and provincial treatment experts from various departments such as intensive care, emergency, orthopedics, etc., and is implementing "one person, one policy" treatment for all the wounded.

  After the accident, Lou Qinjian, secretary of the Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee of the Communist Party of China, and Wu Zhenglong, governor of Jiangsu Province, gave instructions on the emergency response and rescue work of the accident, and went to direct and deploy emergency rescue and treatment and aftermath work respectively.

Yancheng initiated the emergency response mechanism as soon as possible, and organized public security, emergency management, and health commissions to carry out on-site rescue and accident investigation.
