[Explanation] On March 30, the 27th meeting of the Standing Committee of the 13th National People's Congress unanimously passed the newly revised "Annex I to the Basic Law of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China for the Selection of the Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region" and the newly revised " Annex II to the Basic Law of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China on the Method for Forming the Legislative Council of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and the Voting Procedure.

The composition of the Election Committee has been increased from 1,200 to 1,500, and the fifth sector has been added, including representatives of the Hong Kong National People’s Congress, Hong Kong National People’s Congress, and Hong Kong members of relevant national organizations. Deputy Director of the Economic Committee of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference Rong Yongqi, founding president of the Hong Kong Association of Professionals and Senior Administrators, said in an exclusive interview with a reporter from China News Agency recently that the relevant arrangements have given more people the opportunity to participate in the election.

First, it has increased by 300 people. From a political point of view, "patriots ruling Hong Kong" is more practical. Because these 300 people are all people who are involved in the National People's Congress and the CPPCC and are involved in national affairs, they are more determined patriots.

In the past, many of these 300 people may be distributed in the past ten major sectors, some may be in the second sector of professionals, some in the business and finance sector, some in the labor sector or other sectors, and so on.

(In the future) many of these people may have been vacated (positions) in the four major sectors in the past, so that more professionals, as you mentioned earlier, will serve through their profession and through their profession (social ), and then different sectors (persons) can participate.

I think it becomes better for more people to have the opportunity to participate.

[Commentary] Rong Yongqi said that the grassroots have a deeper understanding of many deep-seated problems in Hong Kong, such as housing problems, the upward mobility of young people, and the emerging employment problems.

Therefore, it is of great significance to have the voices of the grassroots heard.

I think it has added 60 people at the grassroots level (representatives). I think it is very meaningful.

It is to see that the central government hopes that through this "change", the Hong Kong (SAR) government can pay more attention to improving people's livelihood. I think improving people's livelihood is the biggest problem for Hong Kong at present, whether it is their housing problems, living problems, and social security. I think all aspects such as issues, employment issues, etc. are very important, as well as the upward mobility of young people’s jobs. I think they are all very important. Therefore, there are 60 positions with grassroots representatives in, and the election committee allows the chief executive to have more There are more opportunities to contact them and hear the voices of the grassroots. I believe that the SAR government will pay more attention to the grassroots.

[Explanation] Rong Yongqi emphasized that the improvement of the electoral system will more widely gather voices from different sectors and different strata, and will present the problems in Hong Kong more diversified.

When the whole system came out, it can be said that the Legislative Council has become basically elected patriots.

Of course, a patriot does not mean a representative without scope, a patriot does not mean that there is no different voice, and a patriot does not mean all.

He can also express his opinions from different angles. Anyway, he will put forward what is good for Hong Kong, good for the country, and good for developing the economy and improving people's livelihood.

[Commentary] Rong Yongqi emphasized that the central government’s decision to improve the electoral system was based on the actual situation in Hong Kong, from the perspective of national security, and from the perspective of maintaining Hong Kong’s long-term prosperity and stability.

In fact, since the reunification, the country has really cared about Hong Kong. In addition to continuously supporting Hong Kong economically, Hong Kong's democratic development has also been continuously supported.

The central government’s decision to improve the electoral system this time is based on the actual situation in Hong Kong, from the perspective of national security, and from the perspective of maintaining the long-term prosperity and stability of Hong Kong. It also ensures that Hong Kong can achieve "one country, two systems" stably and far-reaching.
