[Explanation] On April 2, the opening ceremony of the Memorial Park for Organ Donors in Liuzhou City, Guangxi Province was held at the same time as the 2021 memorial event to commemorate the deceased who provided a relay for the lives of others.

At the event, Sun Baosheng, the family member of the body donor, and his wife Xiao Li stood in the front row, with a photo of their daughter on their mobile phones, mourning their daughter with tears.

　　[Explanation] Sun Baosheng’s 38-year-old only daughter was a medical worker who died of cancer in September 2020. The cornea she donated made two blind patients see the light again.

　　[Explanation] Liuzhou City's Remains Organ Donors Memorial Park was completed in December 2020 in the city’s cemetery management office. It covers an area of ​​about 950 square meters. The main monument is shaped as a "L"-shaped stone body that is tightly interlocked up and down, forming a "heart" The stone-shaped sculpture symbolizes the Red Cross spirit of "humanity, fraternity, and dedication". The 9 auxiliary steles at the back are used to engrave the names of donors.

　　The first is to keep these selfless donors in mind and provide a place for their families to cherish memory. The most important thing is to promote our organ donation. Many social workers are not very familiar with organ donation. We can encourage them through such activities. And let everyone know about the cause of organ donation, support the cause of organ donation, and give people who are dying a life of hope.

　　[Explanation] Since the Liuzhou Red Cross started its organ donation work in 2011, it has completed 179 organ donations, 43 corneal donations, 55 remains donations, and 5115 volunteers registered for organ donation; successfully registered 490 organ failures. The patients gave hope for a new life and helped more than 300 patients with eye diseases see the light again.

　　[Explanation] Liuzhou City is just a microcosm of Guangxi's active promotion of the development of human organ donation.

It is reported that Guangxi has completed a total of 2,546 body, organ, and tissue donations and a total of 5,891 organ donations, saving the precious lives of more than 5,000 patients or allowing them to see the light again.

Currently, Guangxi now has 2 autonomous region-level mortuary organ donors memorial parks and 2 prefecture-level cadaveric organ donors memorial parks.
