With nearly 5,300 patients in intensive care, the key figures for the coronavirus epidemic were still on the rise on Saturday, according to data from health authorities.

There were 5,273 people (against 5,254 on Friday) in intensive care units, which treat the most serious forms of the disease.

There were 399 new admissions in twenty-four hours, according to figures from Public Health France.

In this area, the third wave of the epidemic passed the peak of the second on Monday, which was 4,903 patients in critical care services in mid-November.

1,730 new hospital admissions in 24 hours

The number of hospitalizations is still on the rise, with 28,886 patients treated for Covid-19, including 1,730 new admissions in twenty-four hours.

The seven-day figure, which smooths out the jolts, is also on the rise, with almost 13,500 admissions, including 3,074 in intensive care.

The disease has killed 96,493 people since the start of the epidemic in March 2020, including 70,417 in hospital (+187 in one day).

Regarding contamination, the positivity rate, which measures the percentage of people positive for Covid-19 out of all those tested, stands at 7.9%.

According to health authorities, more than 9.2 million people have received at least one injection of a vaccine against Covid-19 and more than three million people have received 2 doses.
