- I try to make an interpretation that is dramatically convincing and engaging but at the same time subtle and respectful.

I hope it will be good, says conductor Daniel Harding.

In addition to conducting, Daniel Harding is also the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra's artistic director and he describes it as a fun-filled but at the same time difficult assignment, as the concert will be performed without an audience.

One of the most famous musical representations of Jesus' last days in life

The Passion of St. John is the evangelist John's story of Jesus' last days in life and was composed by Johan Sebastian Bach 300 years ago.

It is still today one of the most famous musical representations of Jesus' last days in life.

- The work goes from deep understanding to musical refinement and you can return to it many times and find new things.

I think that is the reason why it has gained an important place in history, says Daniel Harding.

In Sweden, many choirs have sung the Passion of St. John.

One of the choir singers is Kulturnyheter's music critic Camilla Lundberg.

- I guess that many will sit at home and sing with the radio choir, because we are very many who know the Passion of St. John and many who sing well.

We have a high standard of amateur choirs in Sweden and that with the Johanneskören for Easter, that's the thing!

The concert will be broadcast on Friday 2 April at 19:00 in P2 and in Berwaldhallen play
