Emmanuel Macron announced this Thursday evening new restriction measures in the context of the Covid-19 epidemic.

Following this speech, many people decided to travel to France during the Easter weekend.

To better manage demand while respecting health measures to limit the spread of the coronavirus, SNCF has indicated that 29 additional trains will run this weekend between Paris and Normandy, reports

Ouest France

.

This decision was taken in consultation with the Normandy Region.

A "public health issue"

These trains will run on Friday April 2, Saturday April 3 in the morning and Monday April 5 in the afternoon, i.e. outside the work period (from Saturday afternoon to Monday noon).

Travelers are advised to book a trip on the long-distance trains, Krono + (Paris-Rouen-Le Havre and Paris-Caen-Cherbourg / Trouville-Deauville) and Krono (Paris-Granville).

“It's a public health issue,” said Hervé Morin, President of the Region.

“The Parisians and Normans who will use them mainly this Easter weekend must be able to travel in optimal sanitary conditions and this without the trains being saturated.

"

All people traveling on these lines will thus be able to travel in trains that will not be overloaded in order to limit the spread of the virus.

SNCF and the Normandy Region are also planning additional trains in April for the return of Ile-de-France and Normans to their homes, specifies France Bleu Normandie.
