On April 1, the Lalu Wetland National Nature Reserve in Lhasa, Tibet, was officially opened. The general public and tourists can enter and visit for free from 10:00-20:00 every Tuesday to Sunday.

Lalu Wetland in Tibetan means "Dangraqinpo", which means a large swath of reeds, and has the reputation of "lungs of Lhasa".

The reserve is rich in animal and plant resources. Redshanks, brown-headed gulls, larks, coots, skylarks, pochard and black-necked cranes are common among birds.
