The American giant announced on Wednesday that 110 of its component and product suppliers will switch to 100% renewable energy, reports

Thus, nearly 8 GigaWatts of “clean” energy will be connected to the electricity grid, not to mention a giant battery project in California capable of storing 240 Megawatt hours of energy.

According to Apple, these two projects will have the same impact as if 3.4 million cars were taken off the road each year.

A support program for suppliers

In July 2020, Apple indicated that it intended to achieve total carbon neutrality by 2030. Its ecological footprint has already decreased by 40%.

The tech giant is already leading this ecological race because all of its offices, Apple Stores and data centers around the world respect carbon neutrality.

But this project involves monitoring all of Apple's activities, including product lines, distribution, and other areas.

To this end, the company has created a five-year program, the Supplier Clean Energy, which helps its suppliers by providing ecological know-how and expertise, recalls
