China News Service, Hong Kong, April 1st (Reporter Wang Jiacheng) Li Zhiying, the founder of Hong Kong One Media Group, and Martin Lee, a former member of the Legislative Council of the Special Administrative Region, were involved in a "flow-style" gathering on August 18, 2019 and were charged with one item The crime of organizing an unauthorized assembly and a crime of participating in an unauthorized assembly.

The District Court judge ruled on the 1st that Li Zhiying and other 7 defendants were convicted of the above two charges.

The case was adjourned to the sentence on April 16.

In the meantime, Li Zhiying and Liang Guoxiong must be remanded in custody.

The 7 defendants include Li Zhiying, Li Zhuoren, Wu Aiyi, Liang Guoxiong, He Xiulan, He Junren and Martin Lee.

The judge pointed out in the ruling that the parade that day was carried out without the police issuing a no-objection notice, and the number of participants was more than 30.

According to news clips, the marchers were led by a designated person to leave Victoria Park under the direction of the organizer.

There is no evidence that the Victoria Park was crowded and needed to be evacuated.

Therefore, it is believed that the defendant organized and participated in the demonstration without legal authority or reasonable excuse.

The judge therefore ruled that the seven defendants were all convicted of "organizing an unauthorized assembly" and "knowingly participating in an unauthorized assembly".

The judge adjourned the pleading and sentencing of the case until April 16.

Among the seven defendants, Li Zhiying and Liang Guoxiong must continue to be remanded for alleged violations of the Hong Kong National Security Law in other cases, so no new bail conditions have been added.

The case was heard by the District Court of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region in West Kowloon Magistracy on February 16.

Among the nine defendants, Ou Nuoxuan pleaded guilty to two charges in court, and Liang Yaozhong only pleaded guilty to one of the charges of participating in an unauthorized assembly.

Li Zhiying and the other seven defendants pleaded not guilty in the trial on February 16.

The case continued on March 10, and all prosecution witnesses finished giving evidence in the afternoon of the same day, and the judge ruled that all the charges were established.

On April 1, the judge made a ruling.
