Already on the rise at the end of the week, the indicators continue to climb in the Alpes-Maritimes.

According to Public Health France, this Wednesday, the incidence rate, number of positive Covid-19 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, reached 474 against 454 three days ago and 410 last week.

The national average is 377.

The positivity rate, the percentage of positive cases compared to the number of tests, is also increasing, especially among 20-40 year olds, according to the latest report from the Regional Health Agency (ARS) Paca.

It went from 7.9% to 8.4% in the Alpes-Maritimes.

“The number of clusters in schools is clearly increasing,” also specifies the ARS.

According to figures from the organization, this Wednesday, 697 people were hospitalized for the coronavirus in the department, including 133 in intensive care.

In these services, whose capacity has already been greatly increased, 87.1% of the beds are occupied by patients with Covid-19.

The ARS notes in its daily report "a rejuvenation of the population affected by these hospitalizations in intensive care", with nearly a third of people aged between 55 to 64 years.
