The weekly newspaper "Le 1", launched in 2014, celebrates its 7 years and offers itself "a grooming", in the words of its creator Eric Fottorino.

The journalist and press man explains at the microphone of "Culture Médias" Wednesday the changes which will now run through the newspaper, which changes its name and becomes "Le 1 l'hebdo".

INTERVIEW

It's rare enough to be stressed.

7 years after its launch, the weekly newspaper

Le 1

continues to sell more and more.

The 1

is a single subject by number, treated on a large A1 format sheet, folded several times.

An atypical format, which evolves, and intelligent and interesting editorial choices which appeal to a growing number of readers.

A situation welcomed by its creator Eric Fottorino.

"It is first and foremost the satisfaction of seeing that a press adventure has been born in the heart of our digital age", he rejoices at the microphone of

Culture Médias

"It's a fairly original press adventure, with a unique format and a different editorial proposal," he adds.

"All this brings together more than 35,000 readers every week and it is a real satisfaction for all of us."

But, as we must not fall asleep on its laurels, the weekly is evolving on the occasion of this 7th anniversary.

"A grooming", according to Eric Fottorino ", for the newspaper which changes its name and becomes

Le 1 hebdo.

"Stimulate the eye without losing the editorial requirement"

Enlargement of the logo on the first page, more space given to illustrations in front page, and a major change.

In the inside pages, once the newspaper is unfolded, readers will discover a poster: a mixture of infographics and images, designed like a large encyclopedia board.

"We will try to catch, in the news, events that will deserve to really make very strong, spectacular and very educational infographics and illustrations", specifies Eric Fottorino.

“After 7 years and 340 issues, the eye eventually wears out. What was new loses some of its appeal. We must therefore stimulate the eye again, without losing focus on editorial requirements. "The weekly also increases its price for the first time, going from € 2.80 to € 2.90.
