Gal Gadot in Patty Jenkins' Wonder Woman 1984 -

Warner Bros

  • After many postponements, “Wonder Woman 1984” does not go through the theaters in France.

  • This new opus is less dynamic than the first even if Gal Gadot and his character remain endearing.

  • Without spoiler, we can still admit that the romantic intrigue takes too much precedence over the action.

Let It Go !

Patty Jenkins'

Wonder Woman 1984

is finally released in France.

The sequel to

Wonder Woman

(2017) was released in theaters and on the HBO platform in the United States last December.

With us, it is finally in digital this Wednesday and April 7 in video that moviegoers will be able to discover it after many postponements.

A serious lack of rhythm

Wonder Woman spoke of the character's birth with great energy.

Is it because the 1980s were less promising?

This second part is sorely lacking in rhythm.

The too many discussion scenes make attention all the more weak as the effect of surprise has disappeared.

Too much romantic comedy

The film turns too much into a romantic comedy.

Stories of the heart overlap with action.

We understand the case of conscience facing the heroine, torn between love and duty, but Patty Jenkins forces the line on the melodrama as on the gags in the relationship between Diana and Trevor (played by Chris Pine).

The bad guys make crates

It was a good idea to offer the villainous roles to Kristen Wiig and Pedro Pascal (seen recently in Mandalorian) but it would have been a good idea to contain them a little more.

Both engage in such a hoot that they end up losing most of their threatening potential.

Beautiful action sequences

It must be admitted, the scenes of fights are too rare, but successful.

When Diana Prince gives way to the super heroine to undermine bad elements in a shopping center or when she races with tanks, she regains her splendor.

The spectator is delighted to see her fight with as much grace as efficiency.

Our dossier on Wonder Woman

A wonderful woman

Wonder Woman is as endearing as ever with her desire to make the world better and her lasso that forces villains to speak the truth.

We would just like it to find a bit of bite because this second opus which has brought in only 165 million dollars for the moment, is not up to this wonderful woman.

Provided that

Wonder Woman 3

 redeems the bet.
