Helan Mountain is a natural ecological barrier in Ningxia. The forest and grass resources here provide food sources for many animals. There are grass carvings, rock sheep, snow leopards, red deer and other animals in the mountains. However, due to years of mineral mining and other human activities, the ecological environment has been affected. As a result, animal populations have been hiding in the depths of the mountains, making it hard to find a trace.
In recent years, Ningxia has continued to promote the comprehensive improvement of the ecological environment in the Helan Mountain Reserve. As the ecological environment continues to improve, wild animals such as red deer and shale sheep that once hid in the depths of the mountain go down the mountain for food from time to time.
It is understood that there are currently 8 subspecies of red deer in my country, most of which are distributed in the middle section of Helan Mountain on the border of Ningxia and Inner Mongolia. Most of them are subspecies of Alxa and belong to the national second-class protected animals.
