The Italian police tracked down a fugitive member of the Mafia using his cooking videos on the YouTube video platform.

The 53-year-old had a quiet life in the Dominican Republic, the police said on Monday.

He betrayed himself through videos on YouTube in which he demonstrated his cooking skills and presented Italian recipes.

In the videos, he did not show his face, but showed his tattoos, the police said.

The man had been on the run since 2014 after Italian prosecutors ordered his arrest.

The 53-year-old had traded cocaine in the Netherlands on behalf of the 'Ndrangheta.

The Calabrian 'Ndrangheta is considered to be one of the most powerful and violent mafia organizations in Italy.

It controls much of the cocaine that enters Europe.
